Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, we work across film, theatre, festivals, live events and cultural experiences. Our work lives at the intersection of artistic expression and production, where imagination meets structure and ambitious ideas become tangible experiences.
We exist to help creative visions move beyond the idea stage. Whether developing a theatrical production, coordinating a festival, producing a film or creating a platform for artists to share their work, we bring together the people, resources and processes needed to make meaningful work happen.
For us, production is more than logistics. It is the art of understanding a vision, recognising its potential and building the conditions for it to flourish. It means paying attention to the details without losing sight of the bigger picture. Our Story
Ethereal Nature was built around a simple idea: creative work deserves the right environment, people and support to reach its full potential.
The creative process is rarely linear. Ideas evolve, collaborations take unexpected turns and the journey from concept to completion demands both flexibility and discipline. We understand the importance of protecting the original vision while navigating the practical realities of bringing a project to life.
Our approach brings together creative thinking, production management and collaborative problem-solving. We work across disciplines because we believe some of the most interesting ideas emerge when different perspectives meet. Theatre can inform film. Music can shape a cultural experience. A festival can become a meeting point for communities, artists and new ideas.
Working across these different spaces allows us to approach each project on its own terms. We are not interested in applying the same formula to every brief. We want to understand what each project is trying to say, who it needs to reach and what it needs to become.

The Vision Behind the Work
Kgothatso “Kenzo” Selepe — Founder
At the heart of Ethereal Nature is Kgothatso “Kenzo” Selepe, a multidisciplinary creative practitioner working across producing, directing, acting and project management.
Kenzo’s experience in the performing arts and creative production informs the company’s understanding of what it takes to bring a vision from the page to the stage, screen or public space. His background includes work connected to The Market Theatre Laboratory, as well as projects spanning theatre, festivals and wider cultural production.
As a practitioner who understands both the creative process and the demands of execution, Kenzo approaches production as a balance between artistic intention and practical possibility. A strong idea needs more than enthusiasm. It needs planning, collaboration, clear communication and people who understand how to move the work forward.
This perspective shapes the way Ethereal Nature operates. We approach projects with an appreciation for the artist’s vision, an awareness of the production realities and a commitment to creating the conditions in which both can succeed.
Through the company, Kenzo brings together artists, collaborators, organisations and creative teams to develop work that makes room for experimentation, shared learning and new possibilities. His multidisciplinary outlook allows Ethereal Nature to move between different creative environments while remaining grounded in the same principle: every project begins with a vision, but its impact depends on how that vision is brought to life.

Project & Stage Management
We provide the structure, communication and coordination that help creative teams work effectively, keeping projects organised from preparation through execution.
Script Development & Dramaturgy
We engage with stories, scripts and performance ideas, supporting the development of material and the creative decisions that shape how a story reaches an audience.
Videography & Content Creation
We capture and communicate creative work through visual storytelling, documenting projects and creating content that extends their reach beyond the original experience.
Education & Artist Development
We contribute to creative learning through workshops, facilitation and collaborative programming that support artistic exploration and the development of creative voices.
